Do I need to sign a contract?

We do request that all clients sign a contract with Paul Lees Photography. This helps you to understand what to expect from us, but also outlines what we expect from you.

Can friends and family view and buy images?

All final images are placed onto our password-protected site. If you give them the password they can also view your images and buy any images they like.

A good friend has an expensive camera. Couldn't they just take our event images?

Of course they can, but don't underestimate how challenging photographing a wedding or event can be. You have to be sure that this person is going to perfectly capture your big day – and for this they’ll require a number of specific qualities. A good event photographer has to be skilled in architectural, macro, portraiture and documentary photography. They should also be experienced enough at photographing events to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment. And of course they need to be able to take great pictures.

Event photographers also need to be good project managers and have excellent people skills, with an ability to glean the right information from you to ensure that they document your special occasion just how you like it. Also don't forget that if you rely on a friend to take you pictures, they will find it very difficult to be a guest at your event - they will be far too busy enjoying themselves to take on the responsibility of photographer!

Can guests take pictures while you are taking photographs?

Of course! We might occasionally (and politely) ask guests to move over if they are in a shot. Everyone gets excited at an event, and we completely understand that guests will want to take photos too. We try hard to allow everyone to get the shot that they want!

Are you insured?

Yes. We have full public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance – and this is something you should always look for and enquire about when booking a photographer for any occasion.
